Passport to Christmas
The holiday season is just around the corner, and we’re thrilled to announce the return of our Best Decorated Business Contest for 2025! As in the past, and keeping with our Shop Local initiative, we will be running the Passport to Christmas Once again this year! Participating businesses will carry and promote shopping passports provided b/ the Chamber in their stores for customers to pick up. With each local purchase, customers receive a stamp in their passport. Customers must spend a minimum of $300 at businesses located in Taber & District to be eligible to enter a draw for one of three cash prizes. Members of the Taber Chamber can participate for a fee of $100 and Non-Members for $125. For the one night of Winter Festival, we encourage businesses to provide sales or one day promotions and to offer double' stamps on the Passport that evening. You will still have a draw box for customers to drop their filled passports, but the difference will be it will stay with you until December 14 for customers to drop off their completed passports. Best Decorated Business:
After the successful relaunch of last year’s contest, we’re excited to continue celebrating the creativity, holiday cheer, and community pride that make Taber shine each winter. This year, we’ve refined our judging process to ensure a fun, fair, and transparent competition that highlights the unique spirit of our local businesses.
A designated committee will visit each participating business to assess decorations based on specific criteria. By implementing this system, we aim to foster fun and fair competition while celebrating the creativity and community spirit of our local businesses. We encourage you to light up the night with your creative decorations and share pictures of your business in our Best Decorated Business Facebook group to create excitement but there will be no online voting component.

Contest Rules:
Eligibility: Open to all businesses with a storefront located within the Town of Taber limits.
Entry Fee: Participation is $100 and Non Members is $125
Registration: Businesses must pre-register by November 7, 2025, to be eligible for judging. (You can indicate your interest on the Winter Festival form HERE or call us directly to be added to the list.)
Judging Dates: Judging will take place in the first week of December, by a panel of three committee judges.
Judging Criteria:
A) Unique design and creative use of lights and decorations
B) Storyline or theme
C) Display and placement of decorations
D) Overall presentation and festive appeal
Eligibility Note: Businesses that have won within the past two years are not eligible for this year’s prize.
